Carleton Place Updates
Hi! Here are a few updates on the Town:
1) The 1st release of info from the 2006 Census is out and shows the new population of Carleton Place is now 9,453 (a 4.1% growth from the 2001 Census). The next release date is Tuesday, July 17 and will be the data related to Age and Sex distribution of the population. The following release will be Wednesday, September 12 and will be the data related to Marital Status, Families & Housholds, Housing & Shelter Costs (including dwelling characteristics). Check back here on my website for those results as they are posted.
2) The results from the surveys and public meetings regarding the future of Carleton Place are out. Here is a link to the document: http://carletonplace.ca/admin/docs/uploads/Carleton_Place_Draft_Strategy.pdf This is well worth looking at because it is a refreshingly honest look at the strengths and weaknesses of Carleton Place as well as very specific plans and goals for where we want to go and how to get there. I think this Strategic Plan shows the dedication we have to responsible growth and the commitment our community has to bettering ourselves. I hope you take the time to read it over and get involved in making changes.
